Ethics Case Conferences
Weekly conversations
Every week, an interdisciplinary ethics committee that includes physicians, nurses, social workers, medical students, ethicists, and legal scholars meets to discuss recent cases from our clinical ethics consultation service.
In these meetings, the consultants who worked on the case lead conversations about the challenges they faced when treating the patients and the solutions that were derived to address the patient’s ethical dilemmas.
Exchanging expertise
These case conferences allow MacLean ethicists and ethicists-in-training to stay informed about the ethical concerns that are commonly faced by patients in the University of Chicago health system, and allow them to exchange expertise with a diverse group of clinicians.
If you’re interested in attending a Case Conference, please call 773.834.3439 or email MacLeanCenter@bsd.uchicago.edu.
